Philippines Duterte Wins Election for Mayor of Davao from ICC Prison Cell

Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, who had been kidnapped and sent to The Hague’s International Criminal Court (ICC) with the complicity of U.S. puppet President Bongbong Marcos, to stand trial for human rights violations in his War on Drugs during his presidency, was re-elected Mayor of Davao, where he earlier served for several terms before becoming President.

The election is for thousands of local candidates as well as half of the Senate. The election has become a referendum between the two major family dynasties in the Philippines, the Duterte family and the Marcos family. Duterte’s daughter Sara, the current Vice President, has been impeached by the Marcos followers and will stand trial in the Senate, so the election for Senators will determine how that vote will go.
