Gabbard Confirmation Comes Down to the ‘IC’ and Media vs. the American People

As soon as Tulsi Gabbard’s confirmation hearings before the Senate Intelligence Community ended on Thursday, Jan 30, the intelligence community-weaponized Establishment media churned out forecasts that her approval might now be in doubt. NBC News wrote that Gabbard’s nomination as Director of National Intelligence “could be in serious trouble” and claimed the White House was “rattled,” despite their own report later in the article that NBC had received a statement from the White House Press Secretary that President Trump is standing firmly behind Tulsi Gabbard “because he believes she will do an excellent job as the Director of National Intelligence, and we expect the Senate to confirm her.” The Hill suggested the White House now “faces a decision” on Gabbard which might lead it to drop her nomination as Matt Gaetz had been dropped for Attorney General. London’s {The Guardian asserted her nomination “is mired in trouble and facing the possibility of failure,” entitling its hit job “Why Snowden—Not Russia or Syria—Could Tank Tulsi Gabbard’s Nomination.”

The Guardian cited the much-repeated claim that Sen. Josh Hawley “appeared to hold out little hope for her nomination” in speaking to Fox News Thursday night. What did Hawley actually say? “Her real sin, in the eyes of so many of the Washington establishment of both parties, is she challenged the surveillance state. She told the truth about the government spying on Americans … [and] she is getting absolutely roasted and persecuted. That’s the real issue here.”

On Jan. 31, President Donald Trump weighed in by reposting an article by JusttheNews.com on his Truth Social account, whose headline proclaimed that “Trump’s Outsider Nominees Ran the Senate Gauntlet and Emerged Unscathed,” accompanied by a picture of Tulsi Gabbard. The article recounted how FBI Director nominee Kash Patel, Health and Human Services Secretary nominee Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and Gabbard had each successfully handled questioning in their confirmation hearings. Gabbard was described as “an advocate for non-intervention and surveillance reform [whose] appointment to serve as director of national intelligence roiled some in the D.C. foreign policy establishment.”

The LaRouche Organization, for its part, immediately called for American citizens to escalate their mobilization and to not let up until “The Liars’ Bureau” frenzied drive to save their self-claimed right to run the country through their secret government is defeated.

The Trump machine is likewise gearing up, not backing down. Axios acknowledged as much on Feb. 1, in a report on how the MAGA machine is being mobilized. President Trump plans to start making calls to Republican Senators on the Intelligence Committee, it writes. His son, Donald Trump, Jr. told Axios in a written statement that RFK, Jr. and Gabbard are “highly qualified” and are “also vital to the GOP’s new governing coalition. Unfortunately, there are still a few establishment Republicans in the Beltway who don’t seem to get that. I think they are severely underestimating the backlash that would occur from our voters if either of them were blocked from being confirmed.”

Tucker Carlson is also weighing in, with a series of shorts on his YouTube channel on how “The Deep State Is Terrified of Tulsi Gabbard.” A new one, posted Sunday afternoon, is titled: “Tulsi Gabbard as DNI Will Change Everything.”
