A Feb. 21 report from Reuters claims that multiple sources have told it that U.S. negotiators, pressuring Kyiv to accept a deal whereby the U.S. would take a large chunk of Ukraine’s mineral revenues, have threatened to shut off its access to Starlink, the satellite internet system developed by SpaceX, if it does not agree to the demands.
“This is false,” Musk responded. “Reuters is lying. They are second only to AP (Associated Propaganda) as legacy news liars.”
Early in the conflict, Musk sent thousands of Starlink terminals to Ukraine following Russian attacks on communications infrastructure. Poland said on Saturday that it has been paying for Ukraine’s Starlink system and will continue to foot the bill.
