President Donald Trump clearly ruled out Ukraine’s membership in NATO yesterday, two days before Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to arrive at the White House. He said Ukraine “could forget about” joining the Alliance, during his first full cabinet meeting at the White House. “I think that’s probably the reason the whole thing started,” he added.
“I’m not going to make security guarantees beyond very much,” Trump also said. “We’re going to have Europe do that, because Europe is the next door neighbor.”
