March 13, 2025 (EIRNS)—During remarks to the press alongside Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin yesterday during Martin’s visit to the White House, President Donald Trump made what TASS characterized as a concession, that it is NATO that is at war with Russia. In response to a reporter, who asked if the U.S. has a future in NATO, Trump talked about how NATO has to treat the U.S. fairly and pay its bills, but that most of the alliance’s members were not doing so during his first term. “I made a certain statement that I’m not going to be involved with NATO unless you’re going to pay your bills, and uh I was asked a question, If we don’t pay, Are you going to, uh, help us. I said no, if you don’t pay, you’re saying you’re delinquent,” he said. “If you’re not paying your bills, I’m not going to help.” As a result, Trump claimed, “Money came in by the billions and billions and billions of dollars, and NATO became much stronger.”
