March 4, 2025 (EIRNS)—Vice President J.D. Vance, in a Fox News interview aired on March 3, delivered more harsh comments to Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy about a peace deal to end the war in Ukraine. Vance noted that Ukraine had already asked to come back and continue the conversation which had been abruptly ended last week, but that Trump replied, “What are we even going to talk about?” as Zelenskyy showed a clear unwillingness to even discuss about a peace agreement. “You can’t just fund the war forever,” Vance continued, “we need to bring this thing to a peaceful settlement.”
Vance also noted that European countries are “doing a disservice to their populations” by pushing the war forward. What happens is that Zelenskyy goes to Europe, he said, and “a lot of our European friends puff him up. They say ‘you’re a freedom fighter, you need to keep fighting forever,’” but they should instead tell him that the war can’t go on forever.
