March 1, 2025 (EIRNS)—After leaving Washington following the dramatic and disastrous Oval Office meeting on Feb. 28, Ukraine’s Voloydymyr Zelenskyy flew to the embrace of Keir Starmer in London. Zelenskyy was welcomed warmly by the British Prime Minister outside 10 Downing Street with a comforting hug. Starmer promised him the U.K.’s undying support for Ukraine, “for as long as it may take.” The two went inside for an hour and twenty minute meeting which culminated in the signing of a loan agreement between Ukraine and the UK for $2.84 billion, to be repaid, according to The Telegraph, with proceeds from frozen Russian assets.
Zelenskyy will stay in London through Sunday, March 2 for a meeting of some European leaders over Ukraine’s security in light of the change in U.S. policy (i.e., the desire for peace), and for a meeting with King Charles on Sunday evening.
