Nikita Casap, a 17-year-old from Wisconsin, was arrested last month for the murders of his mother and stepfather. After killing his parents, Casap took $14,000 cash and fled south. Later, when the FBI arrested Casap, they found a manifesto and other evidence that indicated he had been planning an assassination attempt on President Donald Trump. According to RT, the FBI warrant released on April 11 says: “Casap appears to have written a manifesto calling for the assassination of the President of the United States. He was in touch with other parties about his plan to kill the President and overthrow the government of the United States.” It adds: “The killing of his parents appeared to be an effort to obtain the financial means and autonomy necessary to carry out his plan.”
RT continues that messages on Casap’s Telegram account reveal that his goal was to blame the assassination of Trump on Russia, and to immediately flee to Ukraine. Messages on Casap’s phone contained conversations with a user using a Ukrainian phone number, appearing to discuss a post-attack escape plan, including how long until he would be “moved” to Ukraine and how easy it would be to find a job.
