Politico, in a March 31 article, “The Time Has Come To Punish Orban, Germany’s Next Government Says,” reports that in Germany, Friedrich Merz’s Christian Democratic Union and its potential coalition partner, the Social Democrats, are attempting to drive Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban out of the European Union, or significantly silence him. The move is another step the EU is taking to stifle dissent and crush democracy. Specifically, they are angered by Hungary’s refusal to agree to the Schachtian “ReArm Europe Plan/ Readiness 2030” campaign of the EU Commission.
Politico claims it has seen a draft coalition agreement of the CDU-SPD, that demands that the EU “withhold funds and suspend voting rights from countries that violate key principles such as the rule of law,” in Politico’s words, reporting on the language used in the agreement. Politico adds that “while Hungary wasn’t mentioned by name, the draft agreement is clearly referring” to Hungary.
“Existing protective instruments, from infringement proceedings and the withholding of EU funds to the suspension of membership rights such as voting rights in the Council of the EU, must be applied much more consistently than before,” the CDU-SPD write in their draft document.
