The Russian Defense Ministry announced the liberation of Guyevo yesterday, a border settlement in the Kursk region about 11 km south of Sudzha. Guyevo was one of three settlements still under the control of Ukrainian forces. The ministry posted video of Russian assault units liberating the town and setting the Russian flag on a building.

Russian military expert Oleg Ivanov told TASS that the remaining two villages will be liberated soon. “As for the situation in the Kursk Region, the village of Guyevo has been liberated, Oleshnya will be liberated soon. As for Gornal, with its monastery, it will be more difficult to liberate. But this is all Ukrainian troops are still occupying in the Kursk Region. Our army will soon liberate these territories,” he said.
