U.S. Apologizes for Genocide in Gaza at ICJ, as Russia Defends International Law

Following the morally reprehensible speech of State Department lawyer Joshua Simmons before the International Court of Justice on April 30—the 60th day of the total ban on shipments to Gaza of food, water, medicine, and other urgent supplies—in which Simmons argued that Israel’s security needs override its obligation to provide aid to Gaza, and that it has no duty under the Geneva Convention to cooperate with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), the Russian delegate took the floor.
