Now, up to 10,000 people from 32 countries are proceeding on a route that started in Algeria and Morocco, and will end at the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Palestine, urging for the crossing to be opened in order for food and aid shipments to enter, and to end to the genocide. Many medical doctors are involved in this effort.
The first persons to kick off the convoy were the “Algerian Caravan of Steadfastness,” which departed on June 8. They joined a Tunisian convoy, which carried Palestinian and Tunisian flags, and crossed into Libya via the Ras Jadir border crossing. They will now travel along roads that come close to bordering the Mediterranean Sea, through the length of Libya. This unprecedented convoy includes dozens of buses and vehicles with more than 1,500 participants from Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, and Libya, reports Roya News.
The website of “March to Gaza”, which is coordinating this event, states: “Participants will gather in Cairo on June 12 and stay at accommodations recommended by their delegation. On June 13, we’ll travel by bus to Al Arish, where the 48 km march will begin. Over the course of 2-3 days, we’ll walk in solidarity toward Rafah. Upon arrival, we’ll camp for three days before returning to Cairo on June 19.”
