Reality Trumps Trump

by Dennis Small (EIRNS) — Sep. 12, 2026

The reality is that the continuation of the unprovoked war of aggression against Iran has now led to the Houthis launching a lightning march south along the coast of Yemen, seizing both the land opposite the critical Bab al-Mandab strait on the Red Sea, and the island in the middle of that strait. This, combined with the closing of the Strait of Hormuz as a result of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, now threatens to entirely cut off all oil and gas exports from the Persian Gulf.

The reality is also that the policy of economic sanctions designed to topple governments that Washington and London don’t like, has led to an annual death toll over 560,000—"similar to the global mortality burden associated with armed conflict,” according to a study reported by the British medical journal Lancet.

And the reality is that Treasury Secretary Bessent’s attempts to lower interest rates is only raising them; and that his threats to turn Iran, a nation of 90 million, into an “economic outcast” has led to that country’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, playing a prominent role at the Sept. 12-13 BRICS summit in New Delhi, where the leaders of half the world’s population are deliberating on how to shape a new global paradigm free of the scourge of colonial looting and wars.

This, President Pezeshkian stated in his speech before the preparatory Sept. 11 BRICS Business Forum, means that, “since the current financial system is vulnerable to political shocks due to its concentration on a limited number of currencies, in order to transform trade cooperation into real investment, the [BRICS] New Development Bank [NDB] must become the principal engine for financing infrastructure and energy in member countries through dedicated credit lines, financing in local currencies and guarantee instruments for attracting private capital.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin concurred in his own remarks to the Business Forum: “Russia has proposed using it [the NDB] as the basis for creating a new investment platform, which will help us attract additional private funds to infrastructure, technology and other fields that underlie the competitiveness of our states.”

Putin warned sharply of the dangers of allowing the current dying system to prevail. The globalist circles of the West who view themselves as infallible gods of Olympus, he told a journalist, have believed that “firstly, they were permitted everything and, secondly, that they themselves were incapable of error…. Now they speak of contemplating the dispatch of troops to the territory of Ukraine. This would mean war with Russia,” he warned bluntly.

Also on the sidelines of the BRICS summit, the leaders of the two most populous nations on the planet—Xi Jinping, president of China’s 1.41 billion people, and Narendra Modi, prime minister of India’s 1.48 billion people—which together comprise 35% of the human race, met and agreed that “China and India are partners rather than rivals.”

Theirs is a simple statement that reflects the characteristic nature of all human beings, as the Schiller/Beethoven Ninth Symphony proclaims: “All People Become Brethren.”

Therefore: Move quickly to create an awakening in the American people as to the real purpose of the 9/11 shock to which we have been subjected for 25 years—not just the whodunnit, but the purpose and intent behind the crime. The population will be receptive to that for a short period of time. And use that opening, combined with the deeper message of Beethoven’s Ninth, to return the U.S. to the path of working with the BRICS and the Global Majority as “partners, rather than rivals.”
