‘Our Youth Can’t Throw Stones; Forget Grenades’

In his interview with Giacomo Gabellini on June 3, Italian Brig. Gen. (ret) Francesco Cosimato said he is especially appalled about the way countries, including Italy, have approved actions such as the bombing of bridges and killing of civilians in Russia. Those atrocities won’t change the course of the conflict anyway. And the so-called Coalition of the Willing is “clearly pushing for a war that we in the West not only cannot win, but cannot even fight,” he stressed.

General Cosimato, who has extensive experience in Special Forces, was sarcastic about the “Kriegstüchtigkeit” of European Youth. “If today you give a young person a hand grenade, you first have to teach him how to throw a stone, because he’s never done it. He’s spent his life before a Game Boy—or whatever they use now, I’m no expert on video games—but the point is, he doesn’t know how to throw.”
