A July 28 cyberattack by pro-Ukraine cyber-terrorists on the Russian state-owned flagship carrier Aeroflot caused an outage to the company’s computer systems, said Russia’s prosecutor’s office, which forced the airline to cancel more than 100 flights and delay some others.
The Ukrainian hacker group, Silent Crow, and the Belarusian hacker group, the Belarus Cyber-Partisans, which opposes Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, claimed responsibility for the cyberattack.
Hundreds of passengers were delayed at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport, where Aeroflot is based. The attack also disrupted flights operated by Aeroflot’s subsidiaries, Rossiya and Pobeda. Silent Crow also claims that it copied some of Aeroflot’s customer and internal data.
