Nikolai Patrushev, a top aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, warned yesterday that London could easily be prepared to stage a so-called “false-flag” incident in order to derail efforts by U.S. President Donald Trump to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and normalize ties with Moscow. “If necessary, London would easily stab Washington in the back. I believe officials in the White House realize what kind of ‘ally’ they are dealing with,” he told RIA Novosti, reported RT.

Patrushev, the long-time Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation (2008–2024) who is now a close aide to Putin, also reportedly warned that NATO’s current actions resemble preparations for full-scale aggression against Russia, including: more Western ships, military exercises, and intelligence operations; combat training activities in the Northeast Atlantic-Greenland-Norwegian maritime zone, as well as in Norway, Finland, and Sweden; and increased NATO military presence in Poland, the Baltic States, and the Baltic Sea region.
