Ukrinform News Agency asked the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the upcoming summit of the U.S. and Russian Presidents, to which Zelenskyy and EU leaders have not been invited. “How can the Foreign Ministry comment on this meeting? Will the Chinese side consider agreements made behind the backs of other countries acceptable, fair and binding on such countries?”
Spokesman Lin Jian declined to take the bait offered by the Ukrainian press outlet: “China supports all efforts conducive to the peaceful settlement of the crisis, and is glad to see Russia and the U.S. keep in contact, improve their relations and advance the political settlement of the Ukraine crisis.”
