Efforts To Derail Trump-Putin Summit

Zelenskyy and European leaders will speak with Trump by telephone on August 13, two days before he meets with Putin in Alaska. German Chancellor Merz has organized the virtual meeting, which Vice President J.D. Vance will also attend. It seems that Ukraine and Europe were not satisfied by the efforts to win over Vance in the U.K., so now they will personally try to persuade Trump not to agree to Russia’s conditions.
