China Focus, a syndicated magazine in China, carried an article by EIR’s Bill Jones entitled “Honoring Sacrifice and Upholding Peace” on the importance of the 80th anniversary celebrations in Beijing. The editors took the final sentence in the article to highlight it as a lead to the article which read, “The memory of the past must strengthen us in the present to assure that the world that our fathers and grandfathers bequeathed to us after that horrible conflict will never again devolve into that world of chaos and devastation.”
