Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Bakanov received a delegation headed by acting Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing at the National Space Center in Russia on September 26, reported TASS; Myanmar’s government news service noted that their delegation received a “warm welcome.”
The delegation observed a scale model of a satellite soon to be launched into orbit, and were able to visit the control room, which manages the deployment of satellites currently in orbit.
Bakanov and Senior General Hlaing then met in the Roscosmos offices and discussed the “promotion of cooperation in the peaceful use and exploration of space technology,” including topics such as satellite navigation, remote sensing of the Earth, and opportunities for scholarship students specializing in space technology, reported the Minister of Information.
