FLASH: Hamas Approves Key Aspects of Trump Plan. We Must Seize the Moment

As Palestinian human rights attorney Jonathan Kuttab suggested this Friday would occur on the International Peace Coalition (IPC) call with Helga Zepp-LaRouche, Hamas has just agreed to key aspects of the Trump 20-point peace plan, “in a manner that achieves a cessation of the war and a complete withdrawal from the Strip, the Movement announces its approval to release all ‘Israeli’ captives, living and deceased, according to the exchange formula mentioned in President Trump’s proposal, provided that the field conditions for the exchange process are secured.”

As all people of good will recognize with anguish, the Trump proposal is a deeply flawed document, that places the blame for the violence on the Palestinian people, and does not hold the Netanyahu regime accountable for the genocide it is committing, but the mass killing and devastation of Palestine has been so extreme, that for the love of the Palestinian people, Hamas is willing to sign on to a bad and risky deal just to get the mass killing and starvation to end.

[U.S. President Donald Trump posted](https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115312298602997974 on Truth Social:

“Based on the Statement just issued by Hamas, I believe they are ready for a lasting PEACE. Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza, so that we can get the Hostages out safely and quickly! Right now, it’s far too dangerous to do that. We are already in discussions on details to be worked out. This is not about Gaza alone, this is about long sought PEACE in the Middle East.”

Who will hold Netanyahu to account? Who will insist that the United States enforce the terms of this agreement, including the right to return, and that humanitarian aid will be delivered by the UN (and not the criminal Gaza Humanitarian Foundation)? Who will seize this wisp of hope, this crack in the dyke to force it to expand into a new economic and security architecture, including the long-overdue construction of Lyndon LaRouche’s Oasis Plan?

In the IPC call today, Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche urged all participants to mobilize with the Oasis Plan in the context of creating a new economic and security order. All of us must do this. Especially all of us in the West. Now is not the time to cynically sit back on our haunches pontificating on how everything is going to fail. That would be the epitome of sadism against people who have suffered so much.

Given the speeches on Sept. 30 by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and President Donald Trump at Quantico, Virginia, we have our work cut out for us.

But as Russian President Vladimir Putin told the 140 people from 42 nations gathered at the Valdai Club meeting on Oct. 2: “Today’s world is an exceptionally complex, multifaceted system. To properly describe and comprehend it, simple laws of logic, cause-and-effect relationships, and the patterns arising from them are insufficient. What is needed here is a philosophy of complexity—something akin to quantum mechanics, which is wiser and, in some ways, more complex than classical physics.”

Do not be a literalist pair-wise reductionist in this moment. Remember that the future is not composed of a linear stacking-up of “events” in chronological order, based on already existing assumptions. The future exists in the imagination of Man, and the present is formed by the future, not vice versa. So we must be aware of the ugliness of the 20-point plan in all of its injustice, but nonetheless fight for the potential which humanity intends.

As President Putin expressed at Valdai, the causes of the 20-point plan are many and complex. Some billionaires would have preferred the ethnically cleansed casino resort option, but to shrewder minds, like that of former British Prime Minister and war criminal Tony Blair, the world would never accept such a blatant injustice. The leaders of Muslim nations who met with Trump on the sidelines of the UN also made clear that there were certain non-negotiable terms. Finally, the American electorate has had it with the “Netanyahu first” agenda, and the midterm elections are not far away.

So we find ourselves with a sliver of hope—a window of opportunity.

Let us not squander the moment by “waiting to see what happens.” We must “flood the zone” with the LaRouche Oasis Plan and the mobilization to get the nations of the West to abandon their ill-founded arrogance, and join the Global Majority as equals.
