Italian Appellate Court Cancels Extradition for Nord Stream Suspect

To maintain the cover story of the Nord Stream attack, an Italian court has blocked the extradition of a Ukrainian suspect to Germany for trial. The Italian Corte di Cassazione (Supreme Court for ordinary trials) overturned the extradition sentence issued by a lower court for Ukrainian citizen Serhii Kuznietsov, arrested in September in Rimini upon a German international warrant. The higher court has ruled on the basis of formal errors in the German warrant, which, according to the ruling, has wrongly characterized the nature of the crime. The argument was raised by Kuznietsov’s attorney.

This comes after Poland had denied the extradition to Germany of another suspect in the Nord Stream case. Now, Kuznietsov could even be released from jail.

The suspicion is strong that the same machinery which has covered real investigations on Nord Stream is working to prevent the “Ukrainian divers” narrative from being destroyed by a delivery of the two alleged bombers to German justice.
