The U.S. is deepening its involvement in NATO’s Baltic Sentry operation. Stars & Stripes, citing an unnamed defense official, reported on Oct. 1that the guided missile destroyer USS Bulkeley has joined the operation, the first deployment of a U.S. ship to the mission. A U.S. Navy P-8 maritime patrol aircraft has been operating in the region since last week.
