House Votes To Release All of the Jeffrey Epstein Files

The bill to release all of the files related to Jeffrey Epstein was passed by the U.S. House 427-1. It directs the Justice Department to make them available. It now goes to the Senate, where it is expected to quickly pass.

Previously, the GOP leadership of Rep. Mike Johnson and others had prevented the Epstein Files Transparency Act from getting a vote, but Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Ro Khanna (D-CA) led a discharge petition, getting over half the House to sign, to force the vote. The Trump administration had pressured three Republicans—Lauren Boebert (CO), Nancy Mace (SC), and Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA)—to remove their signatures. Massie and Greene came under personal and public attack, which exploded with Trump’s wild assault on Greene, labelling her a “traitor,” un-endorsing her, and calling for her defeat in a Republican primary.
