India and Canada Planning Large Nuclear Energy Deal

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, discussed terms of a pending large-scale agreement on nuclear power cooperation on Nov. 23. In the prospective $2.8 billion uranium deal, Canada’s Cameco Corp. would supply uranium to India over 10 years and form part of broader nuclear cooperation between New Delhi and Ottawa, the Toronto’s Globe and Mail reported on Nov. 24.
