The Russian Defense Ministry issued a statement on Nov. 8 confirming a large-scale series of strikes on Ukraine’s energy grid overnight on Nov. 7-8. “In response to terrorist attacks launched by Ukraine against civilian objects on the territory of Russia, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation delivered a massive strike with high-precision long-range air-, ground-, and sea-based weapons including Kinzhal hypersonic air-launched ballistic missiles as well as attack unmanned aerial vehicles at enterprises of the Ukrainian defence industry and power and gas infrastructure facilities of Ukraine which supported the AFU. All goals of the strike were achieved. All the assigned targets were engaged.”
As the Western media “reported” that once again Russian had struck civilian targets in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador at Large on Kiev’s War Crimes Rodion Miroshnik told Solovyov Live TV channel: “The current blow is not against the population … it is against the potential of the military-industrial complex…. Russia is hitting the energy sector, which is used to provide military capabilities and logistics, because Ukrainian trains run on electricity.”
