Dohnanyi: No Peace With Geopolitics, Extreme Ukrainian Nationalists

In a nearly-two page interview with the Neue Zuercher Zeitung on December 22, 97-year-old German Social Democrat Klaus von Dohnanyi, blames the eastward extension of NATO, extreme Ukrainian nationalism in the Bandera tradition, and the attempts by western geopoliticians like Paul Wolfowitz to destroy German relations to Russia, as making peace impossible. Russia certainly has its own interests, but not taking these interests into account and thus leaving dialogue with Russia the job of Trump, without supporting it, is a grave mistake of the Europeans. They show disinterest in their own future which can only exist in an architecture of peace, Dohnannyi declares.
