Flight forward in war is a well-recognized syndrome. As Russia’s military systematically takes apart the remaining fortified outposts in the Donbass and the U.S. increasingly distances itself from NATO’s confrontation with Russia, the EU’s mis-leadership, self-designated as the ‘coalition of the willing,’ has plunged ahead. To fund the proxy war in Ukraine for two more years, they needed to seize Russian foreign reserves kept in the Euroclear system in Belgium. Not getting approval under their rules and procedures, their flight forward has now thrown their own rules and any credibility for financial transactions into the fire.
