A Rhode Island television station reports that police are looking into possible connections between the Dec. 13 shootings at Brown University and the Dec. 16 murder of MIT Professor Nuno Loureiro, a leading reseracher at the Plasma Science and Fusion Center. At Brown University, a masked assailant killed two students and injured nine others. He remains at large. The Boston murder of Loureiro appears to have been targeted, as the killer rang his doorbell and shot Loureiro when he opened the door.
