Russia's Defense Ministry Presents Evidence of Kiev's Targeting Of Putin's Residence

Moscow’s Defense Ministry today released a map, a video and a statement on the Dec. 29 early morning attempted attack on the Valdai residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The map shows all 91 long-range drones headed toward the targeted area, with 49 shot down over the Bryansk Region and 1 over the Smolensk Region. The other 41 traveled further before being shot down, landing in the Novgorod Region.

The video displays one of drones which landed in the snow in Novgorod, along with a Russian serviceman who identifies the drone as a Ukrainian-made Chaklun-V reconnaissance and strike UAV that had been modified. He explained that this drone was mostly intact and unexploded, and that it was “packed with a large amount of striking elements and was intended to eliminate personnel and civilian targets.”
