White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller posted on his X account on Dec. 17 an “explanation” of President Donald Trump’s announcement on Dec. 16 that the U.S. would be militarily seizing Venezuela’s oil and other riches in the near future.
Miller wrote: “American sweat, ingenuity and toil created the oil industry in Venezuela. Its tyrannical expropriation was the largest recorded theft of American wealth and property. These pillaged assets were then used to fund terrorism and flood our streets with killers, mercenaries and drugs.”
