Ukraine’s semi-official kill list, Myrotvorets, has put U.S. President Donald Trump in its crosshairs. On Dec. 13, the kill list’s so-called “news” site, Myrotvorets News, published a story ostensibly on the subject of the European Union’s refusal to lift its sanctions against Belarus, as “some countries” are doing. Myrotvorets headlined)() its story, however, by libeling the U.S. President as “Putin’s friend “ and “an international war criminal.”
The formulation was repeated in the story’s convoluted first paragraph: “While some countries, through the mediation of Putin’s friend, the international war criminal Trump, are exchanging people for potassium, Europe is taking a tough stance: it is not going to lift sanctions against the Belarusian regime.” Thus, the targeting of Trump was the main intent of the story.
