The Valdai Discussion Club met on Dec. 9 at its offices in Moscow, to discuss “Security in Eurasia: From Concept to Practice,” before an international audience of 40 from countries across Eurasia, including India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and Russia. A video of the event is also available.
The conference theme reflects the initiative put forward by Russian President Vladimir Putin to create a unified Eurasian security architecture, initially presented in a speech to Russia’s Federal Assembly in February 2024. A document was prepared for the Dec. 9 conference, titled “Eurasian Security Architecture, Origins, Core Principles and Prospects for Evolution,” and was to be presented for discussion at the opening session.
