Who Was That Fifth Man Behind Trump on Jan. 3?

Five officials stood behind U.S. President Donald Trump at his Jan. 3 press conference celebrating the U.S. military capture of Nicolás Maduro, President of the sovereign nation of Venezuela earlier that morning. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of “War” Pete Hegseth, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine all spoke, as did Trump. Two did not; one was the easily-recognizable (and notorious) White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller. The other was the less-known Mike Davis, the lawyer responsible for concocting the legal grounds for “Operation Absolute Resolve.”

Davis did not speak from the podium, but he used his X account that day to (among other things) threaten Mexican President Claudio Sheinbaum that she could get the Maduro treatment for citing the UN Charter against the Venezuelan attack ("Zip it, Claudia. Or you’re next,") and tell Zohran Mamdani, the new Mayor of New York City, to “fuck off, Zohran,” for his opposition.

He likewise reposted the assertion by his sidekick, one Will Chamberlain, that “The only real `international law’ is American law.” Since the assassination of Renee Good in Minnesota, Davis has suggested the Insurrection Act be used to quell enemies of the state, as he designates all protesters, Democrats, and anyone who defends immigrants.

Davis and Chamberlain are proud members of the Federalist Society, the legal association that American statesman Lyndon LaRouche exposed in 2006 as a leading player in the attempt to carry out a Hitler-like coup d’état against the United States Constitution, led by then-Vice President Dick Cheney and his neoconservative cohorts at the behest of Wall Street’s synarchist bankers.

People should have listened then, when LaRouche warned that the issue with the Federalist Society “is Hitler. We cannot have Hitler, and his policies of government, brought into the United States!”
