As of Wednesday evening, the U.S. President is reportedly set to hold a “signing ceremony” for his so-called “Board of Peace” on Thursday, while he is still in Davos, Switzerland. Who will attend, who has agreed to sign, who has refused all remain up in the air. President Donald Trump did “win” another endorsement for his operation today: Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu announced he will sign. That will not be an incentive for many others to join.
White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff told CNBC this evening that he thinks the administration has “north of 20, maybe 25 world leaders who have already accepted.” ABC reports that an unnamed White House official expects some 30 countries to join. The full list of invitees has not been released, but reportedly invitations to join were sent to more than 50 world leaders. Besides Israel, among those reportedly accepting the invitation are Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Hungary, Jordan, Kosovo, Morocco, Pakistan, Qatar, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. France, Denmark, Norway and Sweden have said no.
