Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov warned that the global strategic situation is undergoing “severe turbulence” as it transitions into multi-polarity, and that “force has become” the main instrument of Washington’s foreign policy, with the Trump administration doing “what seemed unthinkable a year ago.”
Ryabkov made these comments at the Zhirinovsky Readings International Scientific and Expert Forum. He underscored that Trump “became the first and almost the only” Western leader to recognize NATO expansion as the underlying cause of the Ukraine war, and that Russia remained open to dialogue, so long as the negotiations “fit within the framework” established by the U.S. and Russia and the Putin-Trump summit in Anchorage, Alaska last August 15.
