A billionaire businessman in Dubai, endorser of the Abraham Accords with Israel and involved in other forms of cooperation with Israeli prominents as well as Arabs, has called out U.S. President Donald Trump on “X” for putting war “at the top of your priorities” and leading the United States’ Gulf partners into dangers.
Khalaff al-Habtoor, owner of the al-Habtoor Group conglomerate, is reported by Middle East Eye to be “close to ruling circles” in the U.A.E., although not a government official himself. He addressed Trump directly on the social media platform: “A direct question: Who gave you the authority to drag our region into a war with #Iran? And on what basis did you make this dangerous decision?... Did you calculate the collateral damage before pulling the trigger? And did you consider that the first to suffer from this escalation will be the countries of the region itself!”
