Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Says There Was No Intention To Attack U.S.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei, who is also a deputy foreign minister, debunked a number of assertions made in recent days by U.S. President Donald Trump and his minions during an exclusive interview that Drop Site News’ Jeremy Scahill posted on March 4.

As one example, Baghaei rejected Trump’s claim that he had launched the war because Iran was “going to attack first.” Baghaei called it a “big lie.”

“There was no intention on the part of Iran to attack the United States,” he said. “They claim that Iran posed an imminent threat to the United States,” Baghaei added. “Did we come to the Gulf of Mexico to target Los Angeles and other U.S. cities? Or did they come 6,500 miles away to Iranian shores?”

Baghaei rejected several other claims that Scahill had raised as “lies after lies.”
