Little Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke to the press on Tuesday, March 3, just before going into Congress to give a closed-door briefing, alongside other administration officials, about the operation against Iran.
Squirming and fumbling left and right, Rubio’s responses can be summed up briefly in two points: 1) Of course we had plans in place to evacuate Americans from the region—who knew that a war would mess up those plans? It’s not our fault that airports are being bombed and airspace is being closed!; and 2) I never said that the timing of the U.S. attack was dictated by Israel, even though that’s a direct quote!
