In spite of the threat by President Trump to cut off all trade with Spain because of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s stance against the illegal US–Israeli attack on Iran, [he is not letting up on his criticism.]( https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202603/1356301.shtml) Replying in a 10-minute address to Trump’s threats, Sanchez said, “The government’s position can be summed up in four words:
No a la guerra (No to war).” He added, “The question is not if we are on the side of the ayatollahs—nobody is. The question is whether we are in favor of peace and international legality. We will not be complicit in something that is bad for the world and that is also contrary to our values and interests, simply out of fear of reprisals from someone.”
“The Iraq War generated a drastic increase in jihadist terrorism, a serious migration crisis in the Eastern Mediterranean, and a general increase in energy prices and, therefore, also in the cost of living. That was the gift the Azores trio gave to Europeans,” Sánchez said.
