US Briefs Russia on Latest Negotiation With Ukraine, As Kiev Refuses a Deal

Today, Yuri Ushakov, key aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, told reporters that Washington has fully briefed them on last weekend’s US–Ukraine negotiations held in Florida. He simply stated: “Negotiations took place in Florida last Saturday with the Ukrainian delegation. They held talks, we were informed in detail about the results, and we know where we are now.”

Once again, President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff headed the U.S. delegation. Witkoff posted on X that the March 21–22 sessions were constructive and that the “discussion focused on finding a solution to the remaining issues in order to work out a comprehensive peace agreement.” They were focused on “narrowing and resolving remaining items.” At the same time, Ukraine’s acting president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that there was no real progress. He concluded this from the briefing he received from Ukraine’s delegation, headed by NSDC head Rustem Umierov and the Head of the President’s Office Kyrylo Budanov.
