The year2025 was a bad year for Bosch, Germany’s leading automobile supplier and leading consumer goods producer, as well: Decreased sales of car batteries and electric components caused a net loss of €363 million, the first such loss since 2009. Already in 2024, sales were shrinking, but the company still made a net profit of €1.3 billion. Bosch wants to eliminate 22,000 jobs, predominantly in Germany, leaving a bit more than 100,000 employees in the country.
At the end of 2025, the group employed around 412,774 people worldwide—5,085 fewer than a year earlier. This reflected a shift from Europe to other regions of the world. Germany, where nearly 30% of the workforce is based, was disproportionately affected by this trend.
