In response to President Trump’s blustering speech threatening to throw Iran back into the Stone Age, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei in an interview with Newzroom Afrika said, “One thing is certain: As far as the Iranian nation is concerned, we are absolutely determined and resolute to continue defending ourselves against this aggression. This is our land. This is an unjust war that has been imposed on the Iranian people.”
“As long as this “illegal war” continues, and the enemies continue to attack the Iranian people and cities, Iran will continue to resist,” he said.
Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor on international affairs to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, stated that the ongoing war will conclude according to Iran’s strategy and determination, not the miscalculations of aggressors. Velayati, who also served as Iran’s foreign minister from 1981 to 1997, wrote on his X account that while the Strait of Hormuz remains open to the world, it will always be closed to Iran’s enemies and their regional bases.
