Trump and Hegseth Not Sure Whom They Are Assassinating

Various media have picked up on the disorientation of U.S. President Donald Trump on April 29, who confused Ukraine and Iran. He had been asked whether the war in Ukraine or in Iran would end first. He first offered: “I think Ukraine, militarily, they’re defeated.” Yet his description of the defeat—for example, having lost 159 ships—actually indicated he was thinking about Iran.

President Trump also doesn’t know whom he has assassinated. After Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was assassinated on Feb. 28, Trump posted: “Their Navy is gone, their Air Force is gone, their Anti Aircraft and Radar are useless, Khomeini, and most of their ‘Leaders,’ are dead, all because of their Nuclear ambition.” However, Khomeini died back in 1989. That posting was subsequently removed, replaced later by one with Khamenei’s name.
