Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi handed over a written message from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in Tehran on Sunday, reported Tasnim. Naqvi, who was visiting Tehran for talks with senior Iranian officials, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on Sunday and delivered a written message from Sharif to addressed to Ayatollah Khamenei.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed Iran-Pakistan bilateral relations and discussed issues of mutual interest. They also exchanged views on the latest developments regarding the ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran.
The contents of the letter were not revealed but it nonetheless sparked interest. “In diplomacy, as long as negotiations proceed through normal channels, messages are usually exchanged between negotiators, foreign ministers, or recognized intermediaries. When a message is sent directly to the highest level of decision-making, however, it often signals that the issue has moved beyond routine discussions,” WANA said in a commentary. “This is precisely why the Pakistani minister’s visit is being viewed as more than an ordinary diplomatic mission.”
