In a statement, “Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s Comment on NATO’s Anti-Russia Plans to Develop Advanced Weapons System on Behalf of the Kiev Regime,” spokeswoman Zakharova, denounced June 29 in withering terms, the NATO’s Allied Command Transformation in collaboration with the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis Training and Education Centre, which are deeply engaged in developing advanced weapons systems specifically for Ukraine, which, Zakharova states, is to be used by Ukraine to “engineer a direct armed conflict between NATO and Russia.”
Zakharova asserts, “We have noticed information published on the official websites of the structural divisions of the North Atlantic Alliance [NATO], including its representative office in Ukraine, as regards the launch of tenders [bids] for the development of advanced weapon systems based on the record of the Kiev regime’s military operations against our country. The commentary thereto unambiguously indicates that the R&D in question is intended primarily for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with an eye to an early employment of its results in order to accomplish the specific and highly ambitious combat goals that Kiev, with NATO’s active support, is unsuccessfully trying to attain in the course of the ongoing conflict with Russia.” She added, “This project is promoted by NATO’s Allied Command Transformation with the participation of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis Training and Education Centre that openly positions itself as an element of the NATO command structure.”
Commanded by Admiral Pierre Vandier, the Allied Command Transformation (ACT), which Zakharova cites, is one of the two highest-level strategic military commands and responsible for the Alliance’s operations and transformation, and acts a bridge between the military, industry, and academia to figure out what weapons and technologies NATO will need and use in the future.
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman stresses that although Ukraine has never been voted into NATO, “these facts generally fit in with a well-known picture. The consistent integration of NATO command divisions and the relevant structures of the Kiev regime is gathering momentum, specifically in what it concerns the joint search for, development and introduction of combat solutions for use against Russia, with a concurrent integration of Ukraine and NATO’s military industrial sectors. In fact, the NATO countries are Kiev’s strategic rear.”
Zakharova says “For its part, the Kiev regime is ramping up attempts to realize its long-cherished wish to engineer a direct armed conflict between NATO and Russia,”
