The Iranians are still not impressed with the threats of new US sanctions coming out of the mouths of President Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. For Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, this is a movie he’s seen before. He posted the following on X yesterday:
14 years ago: “Most crippling sanctions in history.” Failed.
8 years ago: “Maximum pressure.” Failed.
5 months ago: “Unconditional surrender.” Failed.
