Cheminade at China Modernization Seminar at Chinese Embassy in France

A seminar was organized on August 26 at the Chinese cultural center in Paris to discuss China’s modernization, and the publication in French of Volume 5 of Xi Jinping’s “Governance of China.” In the presence of the Chinese Ambassador to France and of several other high-level embassy officials, some 12 speakers representing the French business community, former government ministers, elected officials, editors, political figures, and communist activists, spoke on the importance of the book, and more generally on Xi Jinping’s emphasis on the need for all nations to work together towards the shared future of humanity. Some 60 others attended the event.

The embassy’s communiqué highlighted among those speakers “Mr. Jacques Cheminade, President of the Solidarité & Progrès party; Mr. Brice Lalonde, former Minister of the Environment; Ms. Sybille Dubois-Fontaine, Executive Director of the France-China Committee; and Mr. Jean-Pierre Page, former head of the CGT’s International Department and former member of the PCF Central Committee. In their view, Volume V of Xi Jinping’s ‘The Governance of China’ is a reference for the international community in understanding Chinese-style modernization. The significant insights and initiatives put forward by President Xi Jinping aim to serve the Chinese people and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. They bring hope and certainty to a world in turmoil.”
