Alfredo Jalife, a widely-followed Mexican journalist and YouTube commentator, used his regular “Under the Magnifying Glass” column in La Jornada today (August 19) to sound the alarm that President Trump is “considering a nuclear [sic] attack on Iran.” La Jornada is a leading daily which is generally supportive of the Mexican government.
The impasse with Iran “has driven [Trump] to the brink,” such that there is now “‘talk in Washington of bombing Iran with nuclear weapons,’ according to disturbing leaks from former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG),” Jalife writes, quoting from her August 6 post. He refers readers then to EIR’s Dennis Small’s detailed discussion in his August 17 weekly Spanish-language video briefing of “the new nuclear doctrine of Elbridge Colby… who proposed to use a big nuclear stick.” Jalife includes the link to the video on the EIR Español YouTube site, where his readers can watch the weekly briefing.
