With the State Department having approved the $24.3 billion sale of 48 F-35s to Saudi Arabia on Sept. 17—Congress has 30 days to block it—Israel wants “compensation” to preserve its “qualitative military edge.”
The Israeli site Walla reported Friday, cited by Middle East Eye, that Israeli officials will ask the Trump administration for systems Washington has previously refused: beyond advanced fighters and stealth capabilities, the development and production of interceptor aircraft, “bunker-busting munitions and underground systems capable of operating deep beneath rocky mountains,” and even space-based weapons.
